Chief Technology Officer

We're hiring a Chief Technology Officer who will execute the technological vision for Agrilyst as we scale from our early customers into our growth stage. The CTO will lead and manage the product team, which is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the Agrilyst platform for our growing customer base.

We're looking for someone who loves managing and building a world-class team of engineers, designers, and data scientists. You're someone who is passionate about how technology can be used to evolve large legacy industries and want to change the way farmers work over the next few decades. You've managed smaller teams at startups and love the challenge of leading startups into the next stage of growth. You've managed teams at a startup focused on data and automation before. You're also a world-class engineer and like jumping in on feature development. 


  • Work directly with the CEO to set company roadmap and goals
  • Translate the product vision into features and roadmaps for the product team
  • Set technical vision and goals of the company and team
  • Triage customer requests and integrate them into the product roadmap
  • Bug triage and management
  • Management of product team, including hiring new engineers, data scientists, and designers
  • Management of company-wide security 
  • Support the Product team on a technical and design level
  • Oversee and maintain the application architecture
  • Management of QA and testing procedures
  • Management of vendor relationships and API integrations


  • 7+ years of management experience at technical companies and/or startups during the early days 
  • Experience building data and automation products
  • Experience managing a small team of peers
  • Experience building and managing a team from seed stage into growth stage
  • Skilled at making roadmaps, product plans, and translating ideas into functionality
  • Strong QA/testing background
  • Strong Knowledge of:
    • Ruby/Ruby on Rails
    • PostgreSQL
    • JavaScript
    • React
    • AWS
